Ethan Carter III vs. Mr. Anderson

impact wrestling Anderson hits a suplex and then Tyrus gets involved and punches him in the stomach. Anderson begins to throw Carter around the ring and into the barricade. He hits a low blow and gets a two count on the outside. Carter throws him over his back and onto the stage for a two count. Anderson fires back with a Plunge. Tyrus gets back into the ring and hits a splash into the corner.

Carter, smiling, goes for the pin. Carter picks up the win.

The beginning was fast and intense, but it cooled down a little. I wanted to see more of Ethan Carter’s offense, not Tyrus. Don’t get me wrong about Tyrus, because he is very valuable. I wanted to see Carter stand out a little more on his own. The show has a great feel live and you can sense it with the pacing and the attention to having a “wow” moment. The match, if given another segment, could have went from good to great.

MVP Goes Off The Cuff

One of the best qualities of MVP is how real he sounds every single time he spits truth. You know that most is scripted, but you feel like MVP goes on his own. He talks about Homicide getting attacked and then starts to talk about The Rising. He gets into politics and says that BDC takes what they want. He says people call thugs the “n word.” MVP goes off and the word gets bleeped out. The Rising make their way out and Drew talks about BDC.

Galloway and MVP go at it in the ring and MVP gets a two count. Galloway connects with a big boot and MVP is taken to the outside. He trips up Galloway and punches him in the head. He lifts up Galloway and throws him into the steel. As they get back into the ring, Galloway tries a backslide and hits Future Shock for the win. After the match, Eric Young comes out and hits him with a steel chair. The Rising gets beaten down by the BDC and Young.

I actually really enjoyed this interaction. The promo was perfect to make the situation feel intense. TNA pushed limits with the race card, but it was done in the form of entertainment. Society’s image has been rocked recently with the developments of Baltimore and their riots. I feel like MVP wanted to go “there” but knew he did not NEED to. Sometimes, things can be said and fans can take it many ways. Well done for both groups and I really enjoyed the physicality between MVP and Galloway, as well as Young finding some protection in the BDC for later tonight.

Currently, Josh Isenberg works for Major League Baseball in their Advanced Media Productions. He grew up in Pittsburgh and went to Point Park University, which is where Chair Shot Reality is filmed each week.

His life outside of his obsession with wrestling include being a savant for Seinfeld, NFL, NBA, MLB and many television shows. He also has an undying love for musicals, which includes many shows he was a part of in high school. Some of his favorite wrestling moments can be linked to such superstars as Edge, The Rock, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels and The Great Khali.
