Tony Khan Announces Tony Nese Is ‘All Elite’ Ahead of AEW Rampage

After he appeared at several All Elite Wrestling shows throughout the last month, Tony Nese is officially”All Elite”, as company president Tony Khan announced that “The Premier Athlete” has signed with AEW.

In a tweet sent out earlier on December 3, Khan confirmed the news ahead of Nese’s match against Sammy Guevara for the TNT Championship on AEW Rampage. In the message, Khan said that he’s been “so impressed” with Nese and called him one of the “hottest free agents” in all of wrestling. Nese made his AEW debut when he was seen sitting ringside on the October 23 episode of AEW Dynamite. He wrestled in his first match on the November 2 episode of AEW Dark, where he defeated Fuego Del Sol. Nese previously noted that he had signed with AEW, but this announcement from Khan made it official.

Prior to his time with All Elite Wrestling, Nese rose to prominence with WWE. He debuted in 2016 and subsequently performed both on the 205 Live and NXT brands. During his run with the company, he held the WWE Cruiserweight Champion; he won the title at WWE WrestleMania 35, but he was released from the company on June 25 during a round of budget cuts.
