Rick Steiner is a busy man.

Bron Breakker is, in fact, a part of the legendary Steiner legacy. The son of Rick Steiner, Breakker has thrown in subtle nods to his family throughout his time in NXT 2.0. Discussing paying homage to his family in a recent interview with Daily DDT, Bron admits that he’s not trying to completely piggyback off of their legacy but he does want to pay homage when and where he can.

“What my dad and uncle did before me with some of their promos and stuff that they’ve done, they’ve laid all this groundwork,” Breakker said. “There’s all this stuff out there for me to use if I want to. Obviously, I’m not going to bank my entire… that’s not what I’m going for. I want to make a name for myself and stand on my own, but there’s certain things out there we can use.”

Breakker also discusses a pitched appearance for Rick Steiner in NXT. Bron Breakker challenged Tommaso Ciampa for the NXT Championship at Halloween Havoc recently. No stranger to the Halloween Havoc name, it was revealed that Rick Steiner was talked about for a potential appearance at his son’s side that evening but Breakker says Rick was simply too busy with his real-world affairs to step back into the world of wrestling at that moment.

“Him and I, we talked about it, but it just didn’t end up working out,” he said. “He’s busy, man. He’s on the school board for the county we grew up in and he’s a real estate agent, so he’s got a lot going on. It’s kind of tough to get him to make it down sometimes because he’s a busy guy. He’ll come down for sure, he’ll make it down eventually.”

One thing that Bron has accomplished that neither his father nor uncle were able to during their time in WCW is successfully come out victorious in a WarGames match. Breakker lead Team 2.0 to victory inside the structure on Sunday, December 5.
