Ric Flair Calls Undertaker An All-Time ‘Top 5’ Big Man; Cites His Star Power In Comparison To Modern Talent

Ric Flair believes that The Undertaker is truly retired, but the legacy The Deadman has left in pro wrestling is near unbridled. On a recent episode of the Ric Flair’s Wooooo Nation UNCENSORED with Mark Madden, Flair was asked if he thinks Taker has hung up his wrestling boots for good considering all the out-of-character interviews he’s been doing.

“I think he’s done,” Flair said. “I don’t think Mark makes the decision at the spur of the moment. He doesn’t need the money obviously, he’s been so successful and I think he’s so wrapped up with Michelle and the kids and his family and he’s in a perfect, perfect scenario for what he wants to do. He likes to be involved in the promotional stuff,” Flair stated, adding that his name carries so much value with mainstream publications and media outlets.

“Going back to what I said last week, it goes to show you the star power that these guys bring. When they’re sending Steve Austin to Dallas and Undertaker to Dallas to promote WrestleMania, trust me, everybody else on the roster is having a hard time keeping up with them,” he said, noting that there’s a reason WWE is sending legends to do that kind of work rather than today’s modern talent.

“It’s not because they’re on the road busy, it’s just that having on The Undertaker on a radio show right now is a lot bigger than having Seth Rollins on a radio show and having Steve Austin on a radio show, you just can’t replace two legendary characters in terms of doing PR.” Flair continued on his admiration for the man and worker that Undertaker is.

“He’s a unique individual. He deserves everything he has in life. He’s paid the price. He worked hard, he’s worked injured, we all have, but I mean I can’t say enough good about Mark.” Madden then asks Flair if he thinks The Undertaker is the best gimmick wrestler of all time. Flair goes the extra mile with that question.

“Absolutely, he may be one of the ten best workers of all time. Not just gimmick. Certainly in the top five big men of all time and I’m going back to Don Leo Jonathan and all those guys.”
