Jay Lethal Looks Back On His ‘Brothers Match’ With Chris Sabin, Names His Favorite Ring Of Honor Match

There are quite a few matches that stand out when it comes to the 20-plus year career of Jay Lethal.

AEW star Jay Lethal recently appeared on the Talk Is Jericho podcast and discussed his favorite matches in both TNA (IMPACT Wrestling) and Ring Of Honor.

“I listen to the show all the time and one of the questions you always ask, is what are some of your favorite matches,” Lethal pointed out. “I don’t know if we were winding to that part of the segment but I got two favorite matches [laughs]. One is my match against Jay Briscoe for the Ring Of Honor World Championship in 2015, for the sole reason that my parents were sitting there watching. I’m sure my mom and dad were thinking in the back of their heads ‘when is my son going to get one?’ and they were finally able to see it and they were there live for it, so that’s one of my favorite matches.

“The other favorite match I have is against Chris Sabin at a TNA house show that never got recorded and the reason it’s one of my favorites is because my oldest brother, who lives in North Carolina, he didn’t really get to see my matches and for this particular match, he was coming. When I told Chris Sabin that, he said ‘no way! My older brother who never gets to see my matches is coming!’ So, we were like screw whatever time they give us, we’re going over that, we’re going to do everything under the sun and to this day we refer to it as the ‘brothers match’ and that’s one of my favorite matches of all-time.”
