WWE Releases Former NXT Tag Team Champion Danny Burch

WWE released former NXT Tag Tag Team Champion Danny Burch on January 5.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful first reported the news:

Burch’s release was part of a series of cuts that affected WWE NXT and the Performance Center. Though he hasn’t wrestled on TV since the August 24 episode of WWE NXT, he had been coaching over the last few months. Burch previously teamed up with Oney Lorcan, and the duo won the NXT Tag Team Championship on October 21, 2020. They also joined forces with Pat McAfee for his team’s WarGames match with the Undisputed Era at NXT TakeOver: WarGames 2020.

Burch signed with WWE back in 2011, and he was an enhancement talent on NXT until his release in 2014. He occasionally competed for the company in 2015, and he also participated in the United Kingdom Championship Tournament before he became a regular member of NXT.

WrestleZone will provide more details as they become available.
