Liv Morgan On Why 2022 Is The Right Time For Her Title Run: I’ve Gained More Confidence In Myself

Liv Morgan‘s time is now.

The fan-favorite star won her first title in WWE when she cashed in her Money in the Bank briefcase on Ronda Rousey to win the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship. In doing so, she solidified her status as a major player in the women’s division.

During an appearance on WWE After The Bell with Corey Graves, Morgan was asked why now is the right time for her title run. She responded by noting that, a year ago, she eagerly wanted to win the gold, but she still had some doubts about herself. By contrast, she has gained more confidence in recent months.

“I believe what you put into the universe is what you get out of it, and I kinda made a point to mention last year how I felt ready,” said Morgan. “And even though I did, I still had doubts. I still, deep down, had moments of doubt, of questioning myself, if I was good enough, if I rally am ready, even though I wanted it so bad. Fast forward to this year, I mean over the last couple months, just of naturally, I’ve felt my confidence and just my belief in myself kind just, it took it to a whole new level.”

She elaborated by stating that she has come into her own, and the champion described how she has more positive self talk now. Whereas she once wanted to be the champion, she noted that she practically needed it by the time she cashed in on Rousey.

“It was just like an internal feeling,” said Morgan. “I feel like I kind of more so, over the last six or seven months have kind of really stepped into my own in the ring, and just having more of an inner belief that I can be champion and I’m gonna be champion and I’m great in the ring, and I’m great on the mic. And kind of having more positive self talk that really, really resonated and kind of catapulted me mentally to the next level to feel there’s no doubt in my mind, I’m ready.

“And so that’s kind of how I’ve been maneuvering over the last couple months. My mindset has just kind of changed, and it went from I want it so bad and I think I’m ready to I want this more than I can breathe, more than I want to breathe. And I know that I’m ready.”
