Report: Braun Strowman Returning To WWE

It looks like the WWE roster is about to get these hands because Braun Strowman is coming back to the company.

According to a new report from PWInsider.com, Braun Strowman is set for a return to WWE. Multiple sources speaking to the outlet confirmed Strowman (Adam Scherr) will be at WWE RAW in Kansas City on Monday. Contract terms were not disclosed in the report. Fightful first reported that WWE was interested in bringing Braun Strowman back to the company, but it was only a pitch and nothing was official as of August 29.

Sapp noted that WWE sources praised Strowman for being ring-ready and how he’s in better shape than he was during his initial run with the company. Other sources noted that Strowman’s comments about independent wrestling have rubbed them the wrong way, but it’s unclear if they were genuine or an effort to draw heat.

Strowman is a former WWE Universal Champion, holding the title for a single reign of 141 days. He signed a seven-figure deal with WWE in 2019 but ended up getting released by the company in June 2021. Since then, he’s wrestled eight times, most of them coming under the Control Your Narrative banner.

During an interview with CBS Sports in January, Scherr said that he didn’t plan to sign a full-time deal any time soon, citing time with his family and eight years of the WWE schedule taking a toll on him.

“I’m not looking for a full-time signing,” Scherr said. “I’m looking to enjoy some of my time. I love the art of professional wrestling and eight years with WWE was very time-consuming. I was very, very blessed with the opportunities that I had. I got to see the world and all these things. But it’s been nice having these last six months to take a step back and breathe for a second. I forgot about all these little things in life that mean so much. Time flies by and you forget about it. You don’t get a chance to do it. So I’m catching up on spending time with my family and loved ones. Working on my mental health and my physical health. Working on the tolls of eight years of being a WWE superstar.

“Being full-time on TV every week, I’m not going to lie, it’s stressful. It’s nice not having that added stress element every week. Right now, I’m just looking to enjoy my time. Have fun, sell out some buildings, raise some money for some charities, and just go out there and do what I do, and that’s put smiles on people’s faces.”
