Peter Avalon talks about his current status with All Elite Wrestling, the freedom of not being signed full-time, and his overall desire to eventually land a full-time contract.

Peter Avalon was one of the names brought into AEW from the very start of the promotion. Originally saddled with a librarian gimmick alongside Leva Bates, Peter Avalon transitioned into being one of The Wingmen. Shortly into his run as a wingman, Peter Avalon announced that he would be allowed to take more independent booking dates, but remains a fixture of AEW programming.

While speaking with Denise Salcedo, Peter Avalon addressed his status with AEW, admitting that although he likes the freedom of his current deal, he is aiming for a full-time contract with a wrestling company. Avalon also said that he hopes to die “an AEW legend.”

“I’m Dynamite since day one. I love AEW, I want to die an AEW legend, you know what I mean? I want to be in that introductory class of the AEW Hall of Fame,” Peter said. “I want to grow with the company and I’ve always been loyal to ‘if you believe in me, I believe in you. I’ve always been loyal to a fault sometimes but I’m playing for a full-time contract. That’s what I want. That’s what I desire. I like being able to have the freedom, absolutely, but I would like to be full-time somewhere.”

Asked if he feels that he is in a place where he has to prove himself, Avalon says that he believes he’s already proven to be an asset due to his prior work with the Championship Wrestling from Arizona promotion.

“I’m an overall asset. I helped elevate the Arizona show to something within a short time that was like the talked-about show in Arizona. Then, I’m helping to elevate the Championship Wrestling show we’re gonna make that grow into a bigger product where people want to come and grow. A lot of the people that appeared on our show first, we helped to develop into television stars.

“We helped get Max Caster ready for AEW, and things like that,” Peter continued. “So we have a lot of people that have come through our doors and we have gotten ready for television. MJF, we booked on the Arizona show way before AEW because we were, you know, developing him for TV, all these guys, we helped to get better for television that have come through there. But I want to be full-time somewhere and I want to be able to apply everything that I’ve had and everything that I learned as an overall package like I am. Constantly growing, constantly evolving. I want to be able to be full-time and apply those assets somewhere.”

Peter Avalon can usually be seen on AEW Dark or AEW Dark: Elevation. Both shows air on AEW’s YouTube channel on Monday and Tuesday nights respectively.
