Update On Man Jit Singh And Ignace Lahoud Resigning From WWE Board Following Vince McMahon’s Return

Vince McMahon‘s return to WWE  has shaken up the company and its Board of Directors, and a new filing shined some light on the situation.

McMahon returned to the WWE Board on January 6. Alongside his return, an SEC filing announced that Ignace Lahoud and Man Jit Singh resigned from the board, while JoEllen Lyons Dillon, Jeffrey R. Speed, and Alan M. Wexler were removed. Additionally, former co-presidents Michelle Wilson and George Barrios returned to the board. McMahon has unanimously elected the Executive Chairman of the Board on January 10.

In an 8-K filing, WWE confirmed that Ignace Lahoud and Man Ji Singh resigned from the board because they disagreed with McMahon’s return. Singh led the board’s investigation into McMahon regarding allegations of sexual misconduct and hush money, which first became public through a Wall Street Journal report in June 2022. WWE announced that the investigation of McMahon was complete in November.

In the filing, it is noted that, “While Messrs. Lahoud and Singh agreed with the Board’s decision to explore the Company’s strategic alternatives, they did not agree with Mr. McMahon’s return at this time.”

A WWE shareholder has filed a lawsuit following McMahon’s return to the Board of Directors. More information is available here.
