Booker T comments on Ivy Nile‘s upcoming appearance for his Reality of wrestling promotion.

It was announced back on Saturday, February 4 that NXT Superstar Ivy Nile would be wrestling on the 2/11 Reality of Wrestling event. Nile will take on Promise Braxton, a young wrestler that Booker T believes shows great potential.

Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T detailed how the one-off appearance came to be from his perspective.

“To work with the next generation and future talent at WWE as well in Ivy Nile, that’s my passion. That’s when I do my best work, working with young people and trying to guide them on this journey that I love so much. I’m still living my best life right now, totally content where I am. For me, to see something like this come together, it’s so awesome. I appreciate Shawn Michaels and WWE for giving me this opportunity to let one of my young talents in Reality of Wrestling shine,” said the WWE Hall of Famer.

Booker T then addressed reports that his promotion had entered into a partnership with WWE NXT, stating that he was never asked whether or not a partnership had been formed.

“Immediately after we post that, stories start popping up on the internet, pretty much saying that, ‘Reality of Wrestling is partnering with WWE.’ That right there for me, if you get that, as a journalist, from someone in WWE, okay, fine,” said Booker. But if you see a print, an advertisement of someone being at a show and you formulate your own thought and create your own story, that’s when embellishment becomes something totally different. That’s when embellishment becomes blatant lying.”

Booker T would go on to say that he was simply asking for a favor and reiterate his appreciation for Shawn Michaels for allowing this all to happen.

“I asked a favor for an NXT talent, someone who is one of my favorites, Ivy Nile, to be able to come to Reality of Wrestling and get in the ring with someone who I think may have next-level potential. I was granted that wish, and I appreciate that,” he said.

During a media call following WWE NXT Vengeance Day, Shawn Michaels clarified that, in his eyes, this booking was a one-off agreement, and at this time, no further plans are in the works for NXT Superstars to wrestle outside of WWE.
