Kofi Kingston Provides Health Update Following Ankle Surgery

Following the announcement that he would be undergoing ankle surgery, Kofi Kingston has taken to social media to share that the surgery was a success.

In a post on Instagram, Kingston shared a screenshot of himself FaceTiming his co-New Day members Xavier Woods and Big E, with Kingston giving them a thumbs up. In the caption of the post, Kingston said that the surgery went well, and that he is now on the road to recovery.

“Surgery went very well! Of course I had to FaceTime the boyzzz upon regaining consciousness…Very little recollection of the conversation, lol,” reads Kingston’s caption. “Thanks to everybody who sent me a message! I appreciate it more than you know! I’m home now. Let the road to recovery begin!”

Kingston hurt his ankle during the March 3 episode of WWE SmackDown; the injury seemingly occurred when Kingston was at ringside for a brawl, and Drew McIntyre dove onto the group of wrestlers. On the March 10 episode of SmackDown, he was scheduled to compete in a five-way match for a shot at the Intercontinental Championship, but he was replaced by Xavier Woods.
