Santos Escobar Reflects On His ‘Magical’ WrestleMania Debut

Santos Escobar looks back on his WrestleMania debut.

Escobar signed with WWE in 2019, and he later debuted in 2020. He was featured on NXT until he was eventually called up to the main roster through the 2022 WWE Draft. After Escobar was drafted to WWE SmackDown, he and his Legado del Fantasma stable eventually formed an alliance with Rey Mysterio.

The group reformed the Latino World Order on the March 31 episode of WWE SmackDown, and Escobar got involved in Mysterio’s match at WWE WrestleMania 39, where the legend helped fend off interference by The Judgment Day. The appearance marked Escobar’s WrestleMania debut, and it was one that he’ll likely remember

Speaking on WWE’s The Bump, Escobar reflected on his WrestleMania debut and stated that it was a surreal, magical moment.

“It was electric,’ Escobar said. “This is my WrestleMania debut, and I didn’t have a featured match, but I was there with Rey, and we shared his victory. I was right there, I turned to my left, and there’s Bad Bunny. It’s just surreal. Then as I turned to the center of the ring, my eyes pass through 85,000-plus members of the WWE Universe, and there’s Rey, one-two-three. Boom! I just slide in and all I could do was find a moment to celebrate with him, and I just put him on my shoulders. It was just a magical moment to me.”

Escobar then described how he feels like he’s living a dream, and he doesn’t want to want up. Instead, he wants to keep it going and see how far it goes.

“Growing up in this business, looking up to these people, and now being there with Rey, working with Triple H, with you guys, it’s amazing to me,” he said. “I’m living a dream. I’m in a dream right now. I don’t want to wake up. I want to just keep going and going and going, and see how far this goes.”

As part of the LWO, Escobar continues to feud with Dominik Mysterio and The Judgment Day.
