Tentative Plans Are In Place For CM Punk To Return To AEW

It sounds like CM Punk might be on his way back to All Elite Wrestling sooner rather than later.

Earlier this week, it was reported that Punk has expressed his interest in returning to the company multiple times in recent months, and we now have more information on that front.

According to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp (via Fightful Select), there are tentative plans in place for CM Punk to make his return to All Elite Wrestling on or around the June 21 episode of AEW Dynamite that will emanate from Chicago at the Wintrust Arena.

As far as CM Punk’s current issues with numerous members of the locker room, Sapp has been informed that Punk has been trying to push for a meeting with The Elite for quite some time in hopes that they can all work together when he returns to the company.

It’s also said that the same goes for Chris Jericho in hopes that the two can bury the hatchet and work together in the future.

There are also rumblings that an upcoming weekly primetime show for All Elite Wrestling on Saturday nights could act as a “soft roster split” to separate the people who have issues with one another.

Sapp also makes it clear that nothing is set in stone right now regarding Punk’s return and that things can always change due to this being described as an “often tumultuous situation.”
