Mickie James Not Cleared For IMPACT Rebellion, Vacates Knockouts Championship

Mickie James will not compete at IMPACT Rebellion this Sunday.

To close out the April 13 episode of IMPACT, Mickie James appeared in the ring in an empty arena in Windsor. She discussed her Last Rodeo journey and how age is catching up to her physically. James then announced that she is still not cleared to compete on Sunday after recently sustaining a rib injury.

As a result, James is vacating her Knockouts World Championship. Jordynne Grace and Deonna Purrazzo will face each other on Sunday at Rebellion in Toronto to crown a new titleholder as both women are looking to secure their third world title reign.

James began her fifth Knockouts title reign by dethroning Grace at Hard to Kill in January. That bout was considered the last stop of her “Last Rodeo,” which meant that she would retire if she lost. James emerged victorious and has since defended the title against Masha Slamovich and Gisele Shaw.

WrestleZone will have complete coverage of Rebellion this Sunday as it airs.
