Asuka will have her hands full with not one but two challengers at WWE SummerSlam next month.
Ahead of tonight’s episode of SmackDown, the official WWE SummerSlam Twitter account made the announcement that Asuka will defend her Women’s Championship in a triple threat match against Bianca Belair and Charlotte Flair at SummerSlam, tweeting out:
“BREAKING: WWE Women’s Champion @WWEAsuka will defend her coveted championship against @BiancaBelairWWE AND @MsCharlotteWWE in a Triple Threat Match as #SummerSlam live at @fordfield in Detroit! *Ticket emoji* TICKETS: https://www.ticketmaster.com/event/08005E87913B1AA4,” WWE SummerSlam posted.
This match was initially promoted to be revealed tonight during SmackDown, but for some reason, a decision was made to announce it on social media ahead of time instead.
The following matches have been officially announced for SummerSlam:
- WWE World Heavyweight Championship: Seth “Freakin Rollins defends against Finn Balor
- WWE Women’s Championship: Asuka defends against Charlotte Flair and Bianca Belair
- Grudge Match: Cody Rhodes battles Brock Lesnar
