Katsuyori Shibata would commit to AEW/ROH if Tony Khan wanted him to.
Shibata has been a featured member of the Ring of Honor roster throughout 2023. He is the reigning ROH Pure Champion, and he has also competed for AEW. Shibata unsuccessfully challenged Eddie Kingston for the ROH World Championship and the NJPW STRONG Openweight Championship at AEW WrestleDream.
During the AEW WrestleDream post-show media scrum, when asked whether he has contractual ties to NJPW or if he’s signed to AEW/ROH, Shibata stated that he’s ready to make a commitment if Tony Khan wished.
Khan replied by saying he’d like Shibata to stay forever, and he stated that the champion was his “favorite.”
