The partnership between MLW and CMLL is underway, as Rocky Romero won gold at MLW Slaughterhouse.
Representing CMLL, NWA World Historic Welterweight Champion Rocky Romero challenged MLW World Middleweight Champion AKIRA for his title at MLW Slaughterhouse. The bout marked a showcase of the new strategic partnership between MLW, NJPW, and CMLL.
Romero had Salina de la Renta in his corner, and she made all the difference. She helped fend off interference from other members of The Calling, and a late distraction again aided Romero, as a low blow and a Sunset Driver helped him score the win.
With the victory, Romero won his first title in MLW and ended AKIRA’s first reign with the MLW Middleweight Championship, which began at MLW War Chamber 2023.
