Lexis King Explains Why He Has The Bat Signal On His Chin

It seems like Lexis King gets a lot of flack for his unique facial hair.

One fan asked King why he had Batman’s Bat symbol on his chin. King responded by paraphrasing Jim Gordon in The Dark Knight, claiming he’s the hero NXT deserves.

“Because I am the hero NXT deserves, but not the one it needs right now,” King said.

Another fan also said King had McDonald’s famed “Golden Arches” logo shaved into his chin. King took it in stride and re-shared the post.

Some lesser men might be rattled by the barrage of comments. King can take it though, because he’s not our hero. He’s a silent guardian, a watchful protector. A dark knight.

A shot in the dark

Brian Pillman Jr. made his WWE NXT debut as Lexis King in October. He started his career under his father’s name, however, WWE gave him the creative freedom to start over. He says this was a dream come true, as he told Booker T on the Hall of Fame podcast.

“It was 100% real,” King said. “I felt that way for a very long time. It was just a shot in the dark, a pure chance that the creative happened to be right on board with that. I came into WWE, I told them my story, I told them my real story. I don’t have a gimmick. This isn’t a character. This is real life. Wrestling has had a real impact on my life and I said, ‘this is what I need to do.’ I wanted this. I wanted to become my own man. It’s impossible to be better than. The second coming is never better than the original. I was never going to be a better Brian Pillman, I knew that and I knew that I needed to more or less disparage his name and create my own.”
