CM Punk On WWE Return: This Isn’t About Me, It’s About Everyone That Is Behind Me

CM Punk comments on his return to WWE.

CM Punk left WWE in 2014. He returned to wrestling when he joined AEW in 2021. His controversial run in the company came to an end when he was terminated following a backstage incident at AEW All In. The former WWE Champion then returned to WWE at WWE Survivor Series. On the December 11 episode of WWE RAW, he officially signed with the red brand.

During an appearance on Instagram Live for Elite Comics and Kulture City, Punk commented on his return and said it’s about the fans. (H/t Jeremy Lambert of Fightful for the transcription)

“This isn’t about me, this is about us,” CM Punk said. “This is about everybody that is behind me. That for ten years didn’t forget, chanted my name. I’m going to put the boots back on for all of ya’ll. We’re going to go on this journey together.”

Punk has declared for the 2024 Men’s Royal Rumble. He is set to return to the ring at the WWE live event on December 26, where he will face Dominik Mysterio.

Punk has been training with talent at the WWE Performance Center. More information is available here.
