Kenny Omega Reportedly Had A 50% Chance Of Death, Had He Not Been Diagnosed With Diverticulitis Last Week

We continue to learn how bad Kenny Omega‘s health scare was with Diverticulitis last week.

In this morning’s issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer provided some in-depth information regarding the health of Kenny Omega. Detailing how close things were to disaster before getting checked out by doctors.

Meltzer said Omega had been in intense pain recently but believed it was related to a previous hernia injury. Omega thought it would eventually pass in time, but that was clearly not the case.

Omega sought medical attention following the December 13 episode of AEW Dynamite, where he and Chris Jericho cut a live promo in the ring with Ricky Starks and Big Bill. Meltzer stated that he was lucky to get diagnosed when he did, or things could have become “catastrophic” due to a potential blood infection. Had it gone that far, Omega could have faced a 50% chance of death.

Luckily, Meltzer reports that Omega is doing better now. However, he needs to be patient to allow the treatment to play out before he can even think about returning.
