The Rock Is Coming Back To SmackDown On March 1

The Rock will return to his show next week.

WWE announced The Rock will appear on the March 1 episode of SmackDown. No other details about his appearance were announced at press time.

The March 1 episode of WWE SmackDown takes place at the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona.

The Rock last appeared on the February 16 episode of SmackDown, where he brought back a familiar ‘Hollywood’ look and joined the Bloodline. He also addressed Cody Rhodes, and more specifically the fact that Rhodes didn’t deserve another shot at Roman Reigns.

Rocky went on to say that he’d do everything in his power to make sure Rhodes walks out of WrestleMania a loser. He says that while Rhodes’ story is over, The Bloodline’s is just beginning.

“I’m so grateful now”

The Rock discussed his decision to return to WWE while speaking with Nischelle Turner for Entertainment Tonight.

“I love it,” he said. “I love what I do, I love this world of wrestling, I love pro wrestling, I was born into pro wrestling, I will always be a pro wrestler at heart and in attitude too.”

He also reflected on a trip he took to WWE Headquarters. Specifically, he noted how seeing a picture of his father and Tony Atlas winning the tag titles moved him.

“I have never seen that picture before and I was so choked up… I was really moved,” The Rock said. “In that moment, I thought, ‘Man, they were wrestling in what was a field house back then and wrestling has changed!’ My dad just made history and the bumps and the bruises and the sacrifices that he made and that all those guys made. Now we’re talking about the biggest WrestleMania of all time and the company signs a $5 billion deal with Netflix. It’s just incredible.

“I’m so grateful for the work that he put in and the ground that he laid, [with] my grandfather and all the other wrestlers,” Johnson said. “But also, I’m so grateful to come back in this capacity that I could come back and give to this business and give to the men and women in that locker room, and try and do my little part to do this with everything and create greater opportunities for all of them. It’s the greatest thing in the world, so I’m so grateful now.”
