Former WWE Star Ava Says The Rock Owes Much Of His Success To Dany Garcia

Former WWE star Simone Johnson, formerly known as Ava, recently spoke about Dany Garcia’s impact on The Rock’s career.

She believes her mother played a huge role in helping The Rock become one of Hollywood’s biggest stars. After their divorce in 2008, Garcia continued working closely with Johnson as his manager and strategic advisor.

The former couple also co-founded Seven Bucks Productions, which has produced several successful films and television projects.

Speaking on The Downside with Gianmarco Soresi, Ava discussed her childhood and recalled traveling with her mother while Garcia helped manage Johnson’s growing acting career. She said, “So I did travel a lot. So my parents actually divorced when I was seven. So another thing in common, a little bit younger, but yeah.”

Ava praises Dany Garcia’s role in The Rock’s success

“So my dad moved out to California, obviously, to pursue acting, and I would still see him pretty frequently, but I mainly stayed in Florida with my mom. But, like, she’s obviously a super busy lady, so she would travel all the time, so I would get to travel with her, and that was always really cool.”

When asked how Dany Garcia and The Rock continued working together after their divorce, Ava admitted she did not know exactly how they made it work, but they did. However, she strongly credited her mother for helping build Johnson’s career behind the scenes.

“100%. I will always say this, so much of my dad’s success is from my mom, of course, and I don’t think she ever will get enough credit. And my dad is a phenomenal actor, phenomenal entertainer, phenomenal in everything he has done. But, like, there has been so much behind the scenes that my mom has done in her own lane, and I think that’s amazing.”
