Swerve Strickland wants to see the WWE put more behind Cedric Alexander.
The former Cruiserweight Champion recently signed a deal with the WWE. This was before he dropped down to NXT, former an alliance with Je’Von Evans in the process. This after he split with Ashante “Thee” Adonis, who Alexander was teaming with prior to his teaming with Je’Von Evans.
He is a long way from being featured in main events alongside the rest of the Hurt Business. With the rest of the group now in AEW, Swerve Strickland wants to see WWE pushing Cedric Alexander more than they have in recent years.
Swerve Strickland recent appeared on No-Contest Wrestling (H/T to WrestlingInc). On the show, he spoke about Cedric Alexander, calling him a “raw, unadulterated talent”.
He added that WWE should invest more in the former Cruiserweight Champion. Because of his new contract, he wants to see him featured more, given how much people can learn just from seeing Cedric Alexander in the ring.
“Cedric, so much raw unadulterated talent in that man,” Swerve Strickland said. “Even with himself, I think he’s still nervous to fully express himself, but you never get that until you push him and give him that open time. I think he needs that.
“They just re-signed him for like another three years, so you invest in him. You showed that investment in him and I want to see more investment in him because there’s a lot of people that can learn from him. There’s a lot that the fanbase can learn from just watching him. I still want it for him so bad. That’s like a brother [to me].”
Swerve Strickland is currently embroiled in a feud with the former Hurt Business, although without Cedric Alexander as part of the team.
