Orlando wants to host future WWE and UFC events.
As reported by The Orlando Business Journal, the Greater Orlando Sports Commission is proposing an $18 million grant in order to bid on future WWE and UFC events.
The bid proposes the following events:
- 2026: WWE’s Survivor Series in November or Saturday Night’s Main Event in December at Kia Center.
- 2027: UFC pay-per-view UFC in August or September at Kia Center.
- 2028: WWE’s Royal Rumble at Camping World Stadium in February 2028.
- 2031: Two-night WWE’s WrestleMania in mid to late April, with Camping World Stadium serving as the main venue, while the Kia Center would host events during WrestleMania week.
The article notes that Jason Siegel, president and CEO of the Greater Orlando Sports Commission, stated that this effort has come from nearly two years of conversations. It was estimated that the events would generate more than $120 million in economic impact.
The request for the grant has been advanced by the Tourist Development Tax Sports Incentive Committee, and it will go before the county in the next step of the process.
Orlando previously hosted WrestleMania in 2008 and 2017. They have not hosted a UFC event since 2022.
WWE WrestleMania 41 will be held in Las Vegas. New Orleans will host WrestleMania 42.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
