Has there been a change in the hometown of El Grande Americano?
The masked Luchador El Grande Americano is, as many are aware of, a parody gimmick portrayed by Chad Gable. This character came to life during Gable’s quest to find the perfect way to take care of his ‘Lucha Problem.’ Gable’s quest had begun after he had lost multiple times to a plethora of Luchadors such as Penta, Rey Mysterio, and Dragon Lee.
Prior to the masked Luchador’s debut on Monday Night Raw, an AI-generated video highlighting the journey of El Grande Americano to WWE had aired. In the video, it was mentioned that Americano was from the Gulf of America. That term has been controversial, as it’s what President Donald Trump pushed to rename the Gulf of Mexico in an effort to “restore names that honor American greatness.”

Now, a fan has released a video online recording the latest entrance of Americano during his match on WWE’s Main Event. In the video, Alicia Taylor introduces the masked Luchador by mentioning that he is from the Gulf of Mexico, not the Gulf of America.
This episode of WWE’s Main Event will air later this week.
El Grande Americano will be in action this weekend at WrestleMania 41 when he competes against Rey Mysterio, who had to contend with a litany of foes this week. Mysterio competed against Julius Creed, but also dealt with interference from Brutus Creed, Chad Gable AND El Grande Americano.
