- Becky Lynch Addresses Her Evolution Title Defense
WWE Raw Results:
Mr. Money in the Bank
Seth Rollins, Paul Heyman, Bronson Reed, and Bron Breakker make their way to the ring. Rollins sticks out his hand for the mic. As Heyman hands it to Rollins, Breakker steps in and takes it. Rollins looks shocked. Breakker says he is standing in the ring because Rollins has a vision that has him as the centerpiece of WWE for the next two decades. Breaker has a vision, and that’s a WWE without Sami Zayn. The crowd boos as Breakker rants about hating Zayn. Breakker will never understand why the people cheer someone who has the athletic ability of a dead fish.
Breakker says Zayn has an expiration date, and he’s going to stamp it tonight. Rollins gives Reed the mic. Reed, says… stuff. Reed promises to Tsunami some respect into Jey Uso, just like he did Rollins. Rollins tells Heyman to handle it. Heyman says tonight, the empire strikes first. They are going to take out their enemies tonight. Heyman notes that Roman Reigns doesn’t have the balls to step up against them. The OTC is MIA. After tonight, so will Jey Uso. Heyman buts a promo half in Spanish on Rollins facing Penta tonight.
Grade: C
What was the point of having Breakker and Reed cut promos if Heyman was just going to restate what they already said? This was a huge waste of time.

Grade: C+
This one started out rough, but Sane and Perez pulled it together towards the end. This one had a busy finish, but that was necessary to most likely set up Sane and Asuka as the Raw tag team for the fatal four-way Women’s Tag Team Title match at Evolution.

Sami Zayn vs. Bron Breakker
As Zayn is making his way to the ring. Karrion Kross attacks him from behind. Kross hits Zayn in the gut with a metal pipe. Raw GM Adam Pearce takes the pipe away from Kross.

Winner- Bron Breakker
Grade: B
This was a fast-paced squash that was precisely what Breakker promised in his rambling promo from earlier tonight. After the attack from Kross, this had to be a drubbing, and it was.

The Man Comes Around!
The Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch complains about having to defend her championship against two people who lost last to each other last week. Lynch notes that the other champions got to pick their opponents for Evolution. Bayley inturupts, but Lyra Valkyria powerwalks past Bayley and gets in the ring. Valkyria says she should be the champion. Bayley says she should be the champion. Valkyria says she never called Lynch to take Bayley’s place at WrestleMania. Bayley says when Valkyria lost the championship to Lynch, Valkyria raised Lynch’s hand like a little B*tch. Everyone brawls. Valkyria drops Bayley and Lynch with Nightwing.
Grade: C+
All of Lynch’s promos seem to be the same thing. She complains and talks about being great. Not much to see here until Bayley and Valkyria hit the ring and started trading barbs. Bayley’s go-home line, calling Valkyria the B-word, was a great closing line.

Grade: B
Solid match. Jey got a lot of offense in, and Reed hit Jey with a chair. That’s what a bad guy should do. This match wasn’t about a win. It was about destroying Jey Uso. Mission accomplished. You’d think Reed would have landed more than two splashes if the goal was to put Jey out permanently.

Americano catches Lee with a flying kick before he sails through the ropes.
After the break, Lee and Americano take turns trying to take off each other’s masks. Americano lands a rope walk blockbuster for a near fall. Lee responds with a tree of woe double stomp. Americano avoids a dive from Lee and lands a running headbutt with the loaded mask for the win.
Winner- El Grande Americano
Grade: B
Fun match. Dragon Lee didn’t have a chance here, but at least he was on TV this week. I’m not sure who that guy pissed off, but when was the last time Lee won a singles match on TV?
Words from the Ring General
World Heavyweight Champion Gunther says Goldberg is afraid of him. On the ‘Tron, we see a red sports car pull up in the parking lot. It’s Goldberg! Goldberg powerwalks to the ring. Gunther and Goldberg go face-to-face. Goldberg slaps the mic out of Gunther’s hand. Gunther takes a swing at Goldberg. Goldberg decks Gunther. Goldberg sets up a Spear. Gunther rolls out of the ring.
Grade: B
This writer was ready to poop all over this segment. Another week of Gunther promoing a guy who couldn’t be bothered to show up to Raw. Goldberg showed up today, and it was actually pretty effective. No need for a speech, they got straight to business. With Gunther avoiding the Spear, it just makes you want to see Gunther get ripped in half by one at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Winner- Seth Rollins
After the match, Rollins yells at Heyman to call someone down to the ring. Reed and Breakker appear on the ramp. LA Knight teleports into the ring and drops Rollins with a BFT. Reed and Breakker give chase. Knight escapes through the crowd.
Grade: B
This was the match of the night. Penta looks like every bit of the star WWE wants us to believe he is. Penta hung with Rollins, and this writer would love ot see them clash again. Even with Rollins being a top guy, Penta managed to give us some exceptional nearfalls. The bucklebomb/Mexican destroyer spot made this writer jump out of his seat. Penta continues to deliver on the main stage.
WWE Raw Review:
Tonight’s Raw felt like they were just going through the motions. It’s like a bridge episode between Evolution and SNME. It didn’t do much to hype the show, other than the exchange between Lynch, Bayley, and Valkyria. Knight got another sneak attack in on Rollins, which was a fun touch. Rollins and his crew were riding the ultimate high after destroying Zayn and Jey, so they needed to get knocked down a peg. If not, we would be inching closer to WCW/NWO level of good guy burial. At this point, this writer feels confident about what to expect from SNME, but Evolution is still a bit of a mystery. Hopefully, this week’s SmackDown will do a better job of setting the stage for both PLEs.
