A new report suggests that WWE is already making alternative plans if Drew McIntyre is forced to miss the upcoming episode of WWE SmackDown and WWE SummerSlam.
According to a new report from WrestleVotes, “wheels are in motions” for other plans should McIntyre miss SmackDown’s episode. His planned match at SummerSlam against Jelly Roll and Randy Orton also remains “yet to be determined.”
McIntyre’s status at the show’s remains up in the air due to the surprising news that the WWE superstar was denied entry into the U.S. this week.
Earlier this week, McIntyre shared the news. According to McIntyre, he was in England for a friend’s wedding this weekend. However, McIntyre’s passport was missing, and he was denied entry on his flight back to the United States.
McIntyre is scheduled to compete in a tag team match with Logan Paul. The duo will square off against Jelly Roll and Randy Orton at SummerSlam. In posts on social media, he blamed Jelly Roll for his ongoing travel issues and threatened to make him pay. In case fans weren’t sure if this is legitimate, PWInsider confirmed McIntyre’s passport concern is a legitimate issue WWE is dealing with.
Although people like The Miz have offered to take his spot, what WWE plans to do is unknown. McIntyre still has this week to sort things out. However, it’s likely WWE wants to figure things out sooner rather than later.
