What’s next for Brock Lesnar in WWE? Triple H says whatever Brock wants.
Lesnar made his shocking return to WWE at the conclusion of SummerSlam on Sunday night. Lesnar has not been seen in WWE in two years, and many people did not expect to see him back on TV due to his being named in Janel Grant’s lawsuit against Vince McMahon and WWE.
Triple H joined ESPN’s The Get Up to discuss Wednesday’s major announcement about WWE PLEs moving to ESPN in 2026. During the conversation, Triple H addressed Brock Lesnar’s return and the question of “what’s next” for The Beast Incarnate.
“Have you met Brock? Whatever the hell he wants,” Triple H said. “When you’re Brock Lesnar, you can sort of — when that music hits, you walk down that aisle, it doesn’t matter where he is. He sort of does what he wants to do. We’re thrilled to have ‘The Beast’ back. We hit him up and said ‘[it’s] time to come home]’ and he was into it, and here we are. A massive, massive moment for our WWE fans, something that they didn’t think they would get to see. And making a statement with John Cena, huge and we’re thrilled to have him back.”
Who brought Brock Lesnar back to WWE?
After SummerSlam, Paul “Triple H” Levesque hinted that John Cena had Brock Lesnar on his retirement tour wish list. However, Michael Cole addressed the situation and credited Levesque and Nick Khan for making the first move. Cena also commented on Brock’s return, hinting that he did not pick his opponents and worked with who WWE had lined up for him.
Not all fans are thrilled to see Brock Lesnar back in WWE, as many have threatened to boycott WWE over the move. Lesnar was named 44 times in an amended version of Grant’s lawsuit, as she claimed Vince McMahon tried to use sexual encounters with her to entice Lesnar into re-signing a contract with WWE.
Those encounters never took place, as a snowstorm reportedly prevented Lesnar and Grant from meeting. Despite being named in Janel Grant’s lawsuit, Lesnar did nothing illegal by Grant’s own admission. However, Lesnar has not been cleared of all wrongdoing, as Grant’s team hopes to share more information about all parties involved during the discovery phase.
Grant’s legal team issued a statement after Lesnar’s return, which can be viewed here.
