Jelly Roll has some strong words about WWE’s Drew McIntyre.
In the lead-up to WWE SummerSlam, a tag team match involving Drew McIntyre seemed to be in jeopardy as the former WWE Champion revealed he was stuck in the United Kingdom due to a passport issue. Naturally, McIntyre pointed the blame at country music star Jelly Roll, who was also one of the men slated to stand across the ring from him at SummerSlam.
According to McIntyre, Jelly had some “connections” to prevent him from reentering the United States, and in turn, missing SummerSlam. In actuality, Jelly was just as surprised as everyone else about the news, though he was also slightly offended.
“I love how I got thrown in the middle of his [issues],” Jelly told Karrion Kross in the latter’s new YouTube documentary. “How do you forget your passport and f***ing blame me? What an asshole, right? You don’t understand. You were just irresponsible enough to blame me. I woke up that morning and I flipped my laptop. I told Logan [Paul] this yesterday. Had a Yahoo alert. The Yahoo alert says ‘Drew McIntyre can’t leave UK, blames Jelly Roll.’ That was my Google alert for the morning. I was like, ‘This f***ing asshole.’ Yeah, I was like, ‘Thanks, Drew.'”
What happened with Drew McIntyre?
McIntyre initially headed out to England for a friend’s wedding. In his attempt to return to the United States, however, the airline denied McIntyre the opportunity to do so as he didn’t physically have his U.S. passport in his possession. WWE subsequently made alternative SummerSlam plans in the event that McIntyre remained stranded there. The Miz even offered to fill his spot as Logan Paul’s tag team partner.
Luckily for McIntyre, he resolved the issue in time, returned to the United States, and picked up a win over Jelly and Randy Orton at “The Biggest Party of the Summer.”
