Andrade has finally spoken out after reports about his WWE departure surfaced.
News broke over the weekend that Andrade has left WWE. His departure comes despite having roughly 18 months left on his deal. Fightful (via Fightful Select) first reported the news, with multiple outlets sharing updates on the reason for his departure.
F4WOnline.com’s Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE fired Andrade over a disciplinary issue. Meltzer claimed that Andrade was sent home from a television taping weeks ago. Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp confirmed hearing the same, while Jon Alba of Sports Illustrated reported that Andrade’s release was “not mutual” and he had at least one wellness policy violation during his most recent run. It’s unclear what the violation was for, but sources claimed that he was suspended without pay as a result.
The former WWE United States Champion had not been seen on WWE programming since SummerSlam, where he took part in a multi-team TLC match.
Now, the former WWE/AEW star has broken his silence with a post on social media. Andrade posted a photo of a note containing a simple, two-word message, “Thank you.” He also captioned his post with the #WWE hashtag.
