AEW star Ricochet mocks WWE WrestlePalooza after C grade from ESPN.
This past weekend, WWE held its first premium live event on ESPN, called WrestlePalooza. The show featured big matches like Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena, Cody Rhodes vs. Drew McIntyre, and a mixed tag team match with CM Punk & AJ Lee vs. Becky Lynch & Seth Rollins.
Despite having such huge matches ESPN wasn’t impressed. ESPN’s Andreas Hale gave the show a C grade, saying he wasn’t impressed. He called the Women’s World Title match between Stephanie Vaquer and IYO SKY the highlight. He called out the main event Cody Rhodes vs. Drew McIntyre as underwhelming.
Hale also added that the Lesnar vs. Cena match seemed more like a setup for a future match than a proper ending. Hale in his honest review for the show also said, “For a card that promised epic moments, it fell a little short of expectations.”
After ESPN’s critical review of WWE WrestlePalooza made headlines. AEW star Ricochet seemed to enjoy rating. He reacted on X, formerly known as Twitter, mocking that AEW All Out was far better than a C. He wrote, “I know our show was way better than a C. ? ? #Ahaa”
Ricochet also commented on the irony of WWE, which often says it isn’t a real sport appearing on ESPN, a sports channel. He wrote, “Also what’s funny to me is how a show where they have said over over that they aren’t a “real sport” and its more of a TV show about the wrestling company. But they are on ESPN a SPORTS TV channel? ? Make it make sense. Lol.”
