Santino Marella believes a new television deal would put TNA Wrestling in position to be recognized as the number two wrestling company.
Marella spoke with Lucha Libre Online and praised TNA’s growth since he arrived in the company. Marella said the crowds are growing and they have the talent, but they will become an even bigger presence once the company lands a new television deal.
“We’re knocking on the door. You better look out, because once we get that TV deal, we’re number two, man,” Santino Marella said. “I know people, — whatever, Tony Khan has lots of money, I get it. But the fans speak. The fans dictate who’s number one, number two, number three, not your bank account.
“So, of course WWE is number one. That’s—they’re so far ahead that we’ll never catch it in my lifetime. But number two is attainable,” he added. “Number two is really something we can do. And if we accomplish that, that’s humongous.”
TNA Wrestling President Carlos Silva previously told The Takedown on SI’s Jon Alba that the company was actively seeking a new rights partner. Silva said he estimated TNA’s annual average value to be between $7-10 million per year.
Silva also hoped to have everything lined up in the fall of 2025 near Bound For Glory.
“I think Bound For Glory is a great, a great stake in the sand in terms of us getting everything together as we look to the 2026 year and season,” Silva said.
Bound For Glory takes place on Sunday, October 12 in Lowell, Massachusetts.
