AJ Styles has revealed that he almost collapsed during his entrances on more than one occasion.
Former two-time WWE Champion AJ Styles reacted to a clip on X/Twitter, which showed Seth Rollins talking about nearly passing out during his entrance at WrestleMania 35, saying he got too fired up before the match. The Phenomenal One responded by saying that he, too, experienced the same thing during his entrances on multiple instances.
“I’ve actually done this more than once.”
Styles did not elaborate on when it happened or offer any other details about his remarks.
The Phenomenal One recently announced his plans to retire from in-ring competition next year, and claimed that he’s getting older and wants to focus on his family.
AJ Styles Reflected On Sharing The Ring With John Cena One Last Time
WWE Crown Jewel: Perth featured the final in-ring encounter between AJ Styles and John Cena. Styles talked about the match during a recent interview and heaped praise on the 17-time WWE World Champion.
Speaking to Justin Barrasso of the Boston Herald, AJ Styles claimed that there’s no one else he trusts more in the ring than John Cena.
“I’m not sure there is anyone in the ring I trust more than John Cena,” AJ Styles said. “He’s incredible at understanding what the fans need when they need it. He’s even more incredible with the way he treats people.”
“During our match at Crown Jewel, which is the last time we’ll ever wrestle each other, I was in the moment. I embraced and enjoyed it — I mean, it’s hard not to love what you do when you’re having so much fun doing it.”
AJ Styles also stated that their Crown Jewel encounter felt like just another match for both him and John Cena until it was over.
“People might be surprised to hear this, but for John and myself, it was another match until it was over. Afterward, we were able to reflect on its significance. In the moment, we were doing what we do to entertain people. We’ve been doing this for decades; this is what we do. The greatest part is it meant a lot to a lot of people. We wanted to give wrestling fans something special, and I think we accomplished that.”
