Has Tony Khan spoken with Killer Kross about coming to AEW since he departed WWE several months ago?
All Elite Wrestling President Tony Khan was a recent guest on The Ariel Helwani Show. When asked if he’s spoken with Killer Kross since his WWE departure or has any interest in him, calling him a “layup” for the company, Khan admitted he hasn’t spoken to Kross in quite some time but is interested in the prospect of doing so.
“I have not spoken to him in many, many years,” Tony Khan admitted. “That’s interesting. I’m not sure I like Killer Kross. It’d be interesting at some point to talk to him again. It’s been a long time since I’ve talked to Killer Kross. And it would be interesting.”
Scheduling prevented Tony Khan from attending Darby Allin’s match with Killer Kross
When asked why he didn’t speak with Kross since he’s been free, Khan spoke about Darby Allin’s recent independent match with Kross and believes that had he been able to attend, it would have been a perfect time for the two to reconnect.
“I hadn’t yet. He did some stuff with Darby that I was involved with Darby in terms of clearing the schedule for Darby to do an independent match with him here in New York. And they did a match which I was involved in that. And Darby and I were actually at the Comic Con together that day. Promoting DC, AEW, Full Gear, and the comic books with AEW and DC and Darby went right from the comic con panel where he assaulted Mox.
“So I like him, and I went that night. I had a lot of things going on, and I actually wanted to go see his match. But Darby had to be hustled out, and we still had events, so Darby left early to go do that match with Killer Kross, which was great that he was able to do both things, so I didn’t get to see him that night. That would probably would have been a great chance to connect with him.”
Tony Khan on WWE not re-signing Killer Kross
When asked if he’s surprised WWE didn’t re-sign him, Khan admitted he never knows what goes on with other wrestlers in other promotions, but believes it would definitely be worth reconnecting with Kross in the future.
“I mean, you never know what’s going on with different wrestlers in different wrestling organizations. So I can’t speak to that, but I think he is very talented. And Darby said he had a great experience with him, so it would definitely be worth reconnecting. I mean, we get so deep in our foxholes and thinking about the different things we’re doing, and sometimes I get so laser-focused on one thing, as you can see, that I think about those things, but at some point, he’s definitely a great name to think about.”
Since his WWE departure, Killer Kross and Scarlett have kept themselves busy on the independent scene. Kross has appeared for Major League Wrestling, Game Changer Wrestling, and several other companies over the last few months. Will an appearance in AEW happen next? We’ll find out soon enough.
