Seth Rollins reveals which WWE legend inspired part of his current gimmick.
During a recent appearance on Games With Names, the former World Heavyweight Champion revealed that he took elements from Randy Savage’s persona to help shape his “Visionary” character.
“Macho Man Randy Savage. I stole some of my current character from him,” Rollins said. “He was a big inspiration for a lot of it — just the over-the-top nature. When I was developing the Visionary character, it was coming right out of COVID. We were doing live programming during COVID, just like the NFL was playing games with nobody there. We did our TV shows with no audience.
“It was boring. It was dead. There was no energy. Everything was toned way down. I was like, man, this isn’t what I loved about wrestling. I loved the larger-than-life presentation, the bright colors, the over-the-top personalities. And Macho Man Randy Savage, bam.
“The way he delivered his promos, but could still be taken seriously when it was time to fight. Ric Flair, Rick ‘The Model’ Martel, Mr. Perfect, ‘Ravishing’ Rick Rude. These were the guys, the villains I looked at and hated, but loved at the same time. So I took elements from those guys when I was thinking about what The Visionary could be.”
Seth Rollins reveals what The Rock sent him while out due to injury

“Ah, what a guy! I’m friends with DJ (Dwayne Johnson) now. I got hurt after WrestleMania 40, and he sent me like a giant, I mean, it was so much ice cream and chocolate. We still have pints in the back fridge, because there’s too much ice cream to go through. He’s a big cheat day guy,” Rollins said.
