Mike Santana gives his honest thoughts on losing the TNA World Championship.
Santana won the TNA World Title from NXT’s Trick Williams at Bound For Glory. However, in a shocking turn of events, he lost the title to Frankie Kazarian during the first TV taping after a month-long hiatus.
Kazarian has since successfully defended the championship against The System’s JDC at Final Resolution. As for Santana, he has promised to reclaim the world championship once he takes care of rogue NXT stars this week inside a steel cage on TNA iMPACT.
During a recent appearance on the Battleground Podcast, Santana opened up about losing the TNA World Championship.
“I’ll be honest, I dealt with a few (emotions),” Santana admitted. “I dealt with a few feelings, of course. How could I not, right? But, if there’s one thing I know about myself, is that I thrive in the trenches, and I’ve always been one to use whatever struggles that I’ve gone through as gasoline to throw on the fire, so this is just one of those instances where, alright, it happened.
“Now, how could I use this to push me forward and to elevate? Like before, I was always one to use these moments as an excuse to self-sabotage. Now, it’s the total opposite. Now I use them as an excuse, alright, how can I use this to elevate myself? And that’s where I’m at today and I felt what I needed to feel. Now, let’s push forward and let’s get that title right back where it belongs.” [H/T: Fightful]
