Sting wrapped up his 2025 or Never tour today with WrestleVerse in Pittsburgh, signing for fans in his iconic face paint one last time.
All Elite Wrestling‘s Sting spoke with Denise Salcedo today at WrestleVerse. When asked how it felt to be signing for fans in the face paint one final time, Sting admitted he wasn’t quite sure how to put it all into words.
“I feel completely normal, like this is just another gig for me,” Sting admitted. “But you have people like my daughter, for example, who’s sending these emojis on the phone, the crying emojis, ‘Dad, this is your last one ever!’ And then all my buddies and all my friends coming here and being a part of this.
“And it’s those kinds of moments, because everyone’s feeding it, where it’s like this strong undercurrent of, wow, this is the end. I mean, this really is it. I mean, I don’t know how to sum it up into words, but the undercurrent is definitely there. Bitter-sweet, for sure. I’ll be glad to get off the airplanes and trains and automobiles. But I will miss the people for sure, absolutely.
“Not just the roar of the crowd, wrestling, but these meet and greets. The one-on-ones and the storytime telling. It’s amazing to hear everything that fans have to say, and they’re just so appreciative and grateful, and so am I.”
When asked if he had any parting words for his fans, Sting gave a very heartfelt message that is sure to hit many longtime fans right in the feels.
“I just want to say thank you. I love you. All of you,” Sting said. “I do believe that we’ve had a love affair going on for many decades now, and I will miss all of you for sure, but there’ll be little bits and pieces here with AEW, I’m sure, down the road. Love you all. Thank you.”
