A WWE legend explains why CM Punk should retain the World Heavyweight Championship against Bron Breakker.
CM Punk is set to defend his World Heavyweight Championship against The Vision’s Bron Breakker on WWE RAW’s first anniversary on Netflix on January 5, 2026. Speaking on his Kliq This podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash noted that it’s too early for Punk to lose the title.
Nash claimed that WWE needs CM Punk as champion right now because he’s at the top of his game both as a character and wrestler.
“Punk’s too good on the mic, right now. He’s still solid in the ring, he’s needed right now, and he’s too strong of a character. In two years, he won’t be that guy. I think there’s time, and if they surprise me, I won’t say they jump the gun by any means,” Nash said.
CM Punk Reveals Why He Decided To Compete In UFC After WWE Exit
During his recent appearance on What’s For Lunch, CM Punk opened up on why he chose to compete in UFC following his WWE exit in 2014.
“Big learning curve. It’s just something I wanted to do because I love MMA so much,” he said. “I got offered an opportunity and I said yes. That’s kind of how I live my life.
“I wish I started sooner, that’s the only thing,” he said. “I started so late; I was already old. It was obviously just kind of like a bucket list thing. I mean, [that] doesn’t mean I didn’t take it seriously. I trained my ass off, got into shape. Did what I could, but yeah, I started way late … It’s like starting in the NFL when you’re 35,” CM Punk said.
