Paul Heyman and the WWE Universe have questions; well, Austin Theory has the answers.
Last month at WWE Survivor Series, a masked man entered the Men’s WarGames match and hit CM Punk with a curb stomp. This allowed Bron Breakker to take advantage and pin the champion, scoring a big victory for The Vision.
For the next several weeks, the masked man would make his presence felt on RAW, assisting The Vision in multiple matches. Last week, the masked man finally revealed himself to be none other than Austin Theory. But what led the former United States Champion to return under a mask?
In the opening moments of tonight’s episode of WWE RAW, Austin Theory was confronted by Paul Heyman backstage, who simply wanted to know what the hell Theory was thinking. And Theory provided a suitable answer.
“I wanted you to know why I was wearing the mask. I wanted everybody to feel my actions before they saw my face,” Austin Theory said. “And I’ve made some bad decisions. I got comfortable, I got injured, but then I saw The Vision.
“You didn’t wait for anything. You took, and that’s me now. I take. And I know The Vision’s got a match tonight, and I’d love to take that opportunity and help out.”
Paul Heyman found Theory’s explanation interesting and walked away before giving him a definitive answer.
Later backstage, Heyman informed The Vision that Austin Theory will team with Bronson Reed later this evening to take on Rey Mysterio and CM Punk.
