We have a lot more information on Powerhouse Hobbs‘ decision to depart AEW for WWE and his potential new name that isn’t going to make a lot of people happy.
It was confirmed earlier this week that Powerhouse Hobbs has officially signed his WWE contract. The former AEW TNT Champion departed the company when his contract expired last week. But why did Hobbs decide to make the jump?
According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, nobody in AEW has a bad thing to say about Hobbs, and the decision was based on his family. This would lead Meltzer to speculate that WWE offered Hobbs a bigger money deal than AEW.
In addition to this, BodySlam+ is reporting that the recently trademarked Royce Keys will be the new name for Hobbs in WWE. The company filed for this trademark on January 20.
