Cody Rhodes didn’t get a warm reaction from the Saudi Arabian crowd on WWE SmackDown.
This week’s episode of WWE SmackDown is currently underway at the Riyadh Season Stadium in the King Abdullah Financial District in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the same venue where the Royal Rumble will take place tomorrow.
Former Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes opened the show and walked out to the ring to a tremendous ovation from the Saudi Arabian crowd. After addressing what happened between him, Drew McIntyre, and Jacob Fatu at Saturday Night’s Main Event, he turned his attention to the 2026 men’s Royal Rumble match.
He expressed his intention to win the men’s Royal Rumble match for the third time. However, the fans, who were cheering him until that point, turned on him and erupted in boos the moment he uttered those words. They then started chanting “no” repeatedly as he continued the promo.
Cody Rhodes also teased going after CM Punk and the World Heavyweight Championship after winning the Rumble. However, Randy Orton cut him off and walked into the ring. He said there’s nothing more dangerous than a Viper chasing “15,” and expressed his intention to win the Rumble for the third time.
They were then joined by Jey Uso and Sami Zayn before The Vision interrupted them. The segment ended with General Manager Nick Aldis making a huge eight-man tag team match for the main event.
