There’s a new update on names that were and weren’t discussed to appear at the 2026 WWE Royal Rumble.
The 2026 WWE Royal Rumble is officially in the history books. Liv Morgan and Roman Reigns won the women’s and men’s Royal Rumble matches to book their tickets to WrestleMania, Drew McIntyre retained the Undisputed WWE Championship against Sami Zayn, and Gunther ended AJ Styles’ legendary career.
The event also witnessed surprise appearances from the likes of Powerhouse Hobbs (now Royce Keys), Brie Bella, and Chad Gable (as the original El Grande Americano). Apart from those who appeared, there is an update about some names WWE planned to bring in for the event, as well as those the company never considered.
According to Fightful (via Fightful Select), WWE discussed bringing in Kit Wilson, who’s become highly popular among WWE fans due to his new theme song, for the Royal Rumble. However, the company ultimately decided against it.
Despite the online speculations about his return, the report notes that WWE did not approach Karrion Kross for the Royal Rumble. The same applies to Saraya, who’s recently been posting training videos on social media.
Fightful also reveals that WWE had several talents as alternatives for the Royal Rumble, but they haven’t heard who those were.
Liv Morgan reveals when she’ll choose her opponent after winning the WWE Women’s Royal Rumble
After winning the 2026 WWE Women’s Royal Rumble, Liv Morgan appeared on the post-show to comment on her victory. She first addressed eliminating her Judgment Day partner, Raquel Rodriguez, from the match. Morgan then noted that she’ll take her time before deciding which champion she’ll challenge at WrestleMania 42.
“I know Raquel Rodriguez better than anyone else on this planet. I know Raquel, and she is not a selfish human being. She is No.1 contender for the Women’s World Championship, and now I have an opportunity to win a championship as well. I’m sure she’s happy for me,” Liv Morgan said.
“I have the choice to choose any champion that I want, and I don’t want to make a brash decision. I don’t want to rush my decision. So I’m gonna take my time, and I will choose when the time is right, when I think it’s right, on who is right,” the WWE star said.
