Kevin Nash’s recent comments on WWE’s rising star Je’Von Evans got a lot of people talking. While many became his critics, one current WWE star shared a much more positive experience with him.
The discussion started on Nash’s Kliq This podcast, where he talked about Evans. Nash had plenty of good things to say about the 21-year-old. He praised Evans’ athleticism and overall in-ring skills.
However, Nash felt something was missing in Evans’ character and that he could use a bit more grit and intensity. In his view, The Young OG comes across as “a little too polished,” and he would like to see more edge in his personality. The comments caused backlash, especially because Nash used a phrase that some people felt was culturally insensitive.
As the criticism grew, Nash apologized on social media. He explained that he was talking about creative direction, not Evans personally.
WWE Talent Shares How Kevin Nash Helped Her Career
Meanwhile, while Nash’s comments caused controversy, WWE Superstar Raquel Rodriguez has a very different story to tell. Rodriguez recalled the time she got some critical feedback from Nash.
Back in May 2025, on his Kliq This podcast, Nash suggested that Rodriguez should “work tall” and make better use of her size in the ring instead of trying to cooperate with shorter wrestlers.
Instead of getting upset, Rodriguez took the advice seriously. Speaking on TMZ’s Inside The Ring podcast, she said-
“Getting that feedback from Kevin really just kind of opened a door for me and him to have open communication. Ever since then, he’s been so helpful when it’s come to like working as a big man and just reaffirming everything that I’m doing and changing. That also falls into making me comfortable in this time in my career, I’ve gotten confirmation from people that I used to watch and the people that I look up to.”
Nash may still divide opinions with his blunt style, but Rodriguez’s experience shows another side of him.
