WWE’s Chelsea Green Shares Big Injury Update

Chelsea Green is still going through the healing process, but she shared a more positive update on her injured ankle.

Green hurt her ankle on the February 6 episode of WWE SmackDown in a triple threat match against Tiffany Stratton and Lash Legend. Reports claimed WWE initially hoped it was a sprain, but Green later confirmed she broke her ankle.

Despite the injury, Green said she planned to stay on TV and did exactly that, showing up in a bedazzled wheelchair the next week.

Green appeared to be on the mend during an appearance at WWE 2K26 Creator Fest at WWE Headquarters, as she walked in under her own power. She told WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard that she’s still healing, although she slightly regretted switching out her walking boot for a pair of sneakers in the name of fashion.

“Well, we’re healing. You know, we are healing, but we’re not there yet. I’m hoping, I’m hoping, I’m hoping that this is a quick and somewhat painless process,” Chelsea Green said. “I took my boot off for the love of fashion today. Am I regretting it? Yes, a little bit. However, Alba’s not here to push my wheelchair, so what’s a girl to do? I had to make the outfit look cute.”

Chelsea Green refuses to miss TV time

Green has said she’ll do whatever it takes to get on WWE TV. Even if it’s something as simple as a backstage promo, Green will do anything she can to stay on TV, too.

“You know me, I will never be off TV. I’ll scratch and claw my way into some backstage segment, something. You know what I mean? I don’t want to be off TV,” Green said. “I don’t need to be off TV.”

Some fans even pointed out the similarities between Green’s wheelchair-bound character and her husband, Matt Cardona’s run as Zack Ryder. Green joked that she needs to watch her back because Tiffany Stratton is lurking around and might try to hurt her.

“So, I’m definitely going to watch my back because Tiffy Time has really been… That’s right — she’s a lurker. Thank God most of the WWE ramps aren’t elevated anymore. That’s all I’m going to say. Let’s just keep our fingers crossed that no one gets pushed off any ramps.”
