Mick Foley On U.S. Immigration Enforcement: We Are Better Than This

Mick Foley recently took to social media to share a message against the ongoing enforcement of immigration in the United States, and how immigrants are treated.

In a new video on Instagram, Foley said he was trying to send an “earnest” attempt at talking specifically to Republicans and Independent voters. Foley went on to talk about the deaths of Alex Pretti and Renée Good, and noted that he’s not speaking to anyone who didn’t feel anything for them.

“Hello, everybody. This is Mick Foley, the hardcore legend, and this is an earnest and honest attempt to talk to Republicans and independents who are not so far gone that they can still think for themselves,” Foley said. “Now, if you’re one of those people, like a close relative of mine, who certainly seem to feel like Alex Preti and Renee Good deserve to die, then I’m not talking to you. Thank you for your support, and you can just watch it and leave a mean comment or get out of the conversation now. What I’m talking about is appealing to good-hearted, sensible people.”

Foley went on to recount how he was watching TV and a poll about American’s sentiment regarding ICE popped up. He was surprised that, while 65% of people had thought the agency had gone too far, 35% thought things were fine. Foley said he doesn’t believe that.

“I was left thinking, wait, 35 percent of the American public is for this?” said Foley. “I’m sorry, but I cannot believe that. I refuse to believe that three and a half out of every 10 Americans I meet would be in favor of our fellow human beings, our brothers and sisters, being treated in such an inhumane fashion.”

Foley went on to note that, throughout his years of travel, he’s met so many wrestlers with a wide range of views, and believes relationships should be built on respect and discussion more so than just conflict and who people may vote for. At the end of his talk, Foley said that he can’t believe some of those people he’s met would “turn a blind eye” to what was happening.

“America is better than zip-tying senior citizens,” Foley said. “America is better than chasing down agricultural workers or abducting day laborers at Home Depot. America is better than using children for bait. Agents made a child knock on the door asking to let them in in order to see if anyone else was home.”

Foley is no stranger to expressing his political views. Last year, WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley announced on his social media platforms that he was parting ways with the company over their association with Donald Trump. Foley revealed that he would no longer be making appearances for the company and would not renew his Legends deal when it expires in 2026.
