Can I get a chee-hoo? Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has finally revealed what he looks like in the upcoming Moana live-action film.
The first trailer for Moana dropped on Monday, giving fans a first look at Disney’s live-action update on the animated classic. Johnson’s Maui is also featured in the trailer for the movie, which releases in theatres on July 10. Johnson provided the voice of Maui in 2016 and returned for the sequel, Moana 2, in 2024.

Johnson also shared a poster of himself and Maui along with co-star Catherine Laga’aia as Moana, Pua the pig and Hei Hei the chicken.
Laga’aia steps into the role of Moana in the live-action film in place of Auli’i Cravalho, who voiced Moana in both animated movies. Cravalho is still involved in the new movie as an executive producer. Johnson, Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia are listed as producers through their Seven Bucks Productions banner.
The Rock wrapped filming on the fourth Jumanji film in February. He recently shared behind-the-scenes antics with himself and co-star Kevin Hart ribbing each other on the set.
The Rock had confirmed that Jumanji 4 will be the final installment in the franchise. The movie is scheduled to release on December 11, 2026.
