Seth Rollins has opened up about the mental battle behind his return to WWE television. Moreover, he revealed that one fear loomed larger than any opponent following his October 2025 injury.
Speaking on The Rich Eisen Show on April 9, 2026, Rollins reflected on his road back ahead of WrestleMania 42 — and made it clear that the stakes were about far more than just stepping into the ring.
Seth Rollins opens up on fear of missing WrestleMania 42
Rollins didn’t hesitate when discussing what crossed his mind immediately after suffering a torn rotator cuff at Crown Jewel. For him, the biggest concern wasn’t just recovery — it was the clock ticking toward WWE’s biggest stage.
“Man, I’m telling you — the idea of missing WrestleMania when I first got hurt in October… that was the first thing I thought of,” Rollins said. “I’ve got to get back by WrestleMania.”
He added that missing the event once before still lingers. “I missed one WrestleMania in my career, and it was one of my lowest moments.” For a performer known for stealing the show, sitting on the sidelines is a loss no scoreboard can measure — a true WrestleMania-sized nightmare.
After months of rehab, Rollins confirmed he is now “fully healed, fully cleared,” and ready to compete. His return won’t be eased in either, as he steps straight into a high-profile clash with Gunther on Night 1 of WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas on April 18.
Interestingly, Seth Rollins acknowledged that the match itself came together quickly. “A match that’s kind of come together over the last couple of weeks,” he said, reinforcing reports of a late creative decision.
Despite the circumstances, the Visionary promised a top-tier performance. “You are going to get the very best version… the WrestleMania version of Seth Rollins.”
With no warm-up matches, Rollins is diving straight into deep waters — but as he noted, this isn’t his first rodeo. WrestleMania may be the grandest stage, but for Rollins, simply making it there this year might already be the biggest win.
