Jacob Fatu Brutally Attacks Roman Reigns After WWE Backlash Main Event

Roman Reigns may have won the match, but Jacob Fatu won the battle.

Jacob Fatu challenged Roman Reigns for the WWE Backlash main event, where Fatu brought his unorthodox and unhinged offense, even shaking off multiple Superman Punches and spears from Reigns.

During the closing stretch, Reigns used quick thinking to expose a ringside turnbuckle and shove Fatu into the steel before picking up the win with another spear. Fatu launched a post-match assault after regaining his breath, attempting to choke out his cousin with the Tongan Death Grip.

When WWE referee Shawn Bennett tried to pull Fatu away from Reigns, he was picked up and hit with a Samoan Drop. Fatu continued his attack until backstage officials emerged. However, Fatu took one out with a superkick and shoved RAW General Manager Adam Pearce out of the ring.

He returned to assault the World Champion until officials finally broke his hold, as Reigns was left choking and foaming at the mouth. Fatu exited the ring but re-entered shortly after to apply another Tonga Death Grip. The show went off the air with Fatu holding the world title and standing over a fallen Reigns.

Cathy Kelley caught up with Roman Reigns after the attack. Reigns told the camera that this is exactly why Fatu doesn’t belong in WWE. He also warned of potential repercussions for his cousin, stating that this was Jacob’s last night in WWE.
