WWE Gave NXT’s Mason Rook A Recycled Theme Song From An Old Video Game

NXT‘s Mason Rook got a recycled theme song from the WWE ’12 video game.

Mason Rook, known in the British independent circuit as Will Kroos, made his WWE debut on the April 28 episode of NXT. Last night’s episode featured Rook signing his official contract with the developmental brand. He introduced himself to the NXT fans, boasting about wrestling across the world. The segment turned chaotic after Tony D’Angelo and Kam Hendrix came to the ring and got taken out by Rook in the end.

After taking them both out along with a bunch of security guards, Rook got back in the ring and signed the contract.

However, what caught the fans’ attention was Mason Rook’s entrance music when he came out to the ring for the segment. One took to X/Twitter to point out that it was the same as former superstar Mason Ryan’s theme music, Grizzly, from the WWE ’12 video game.

Mason Ryan was with WWE from 2009 to 2014 and is known for being a part of the CM Punk-led Nexus and for having a similar appearance to former World Champion Batista. Some fans opined that the promotion gave Mason Rook the theme music temporarily before giving him a new one in the coming weeks, and some even hilariously pointed out how the “Mason R” carried on with the music changing hands and how it went from one Mason to another.

Mason Rook will make his in-ring debut for WWE NXT on next week’s episode, where he’ll team with Kam Hendrix to take on Tony D’Angelo and Myles Borne.
